NQF-Aligned Training and Skills Programmes
The purpose of the Fundamental Skills programmes is to gain certain minimum standards in terms of communication and numeracy or mathematical skills. The precise skills differ from industry to industry. EPI-USE Learning customises the skills programmes to suit the specific needs of the industry or the unit standards required by the qualification.
The Communication programme covers aspects such as:
- Engage in sustained oral communication and evaluate spoken texts
- Use language and communication in occupational learning programmes
- Apply comprehension skills to interact oral texts in the business environment
- Accommodate audience and context needs in oral communication - 2nd language
- Communicate verbally with clients in a business (financial services) environment - 2nd language
- Apply workplace communication skills
- Listen and respond to information received
- Engage in sustained oral communication and evaluate spoken texts.
The Numeracy programme covers aspects such as:
- Use numeracy for self-organisation
- Use mathematics to investigate and monitor the financial aspects of personal, business, and national issues
- Apply knowledge of statistics and probability to critically interrogate and effectively communicate findings on life related problems
Business Systems
The purpose of the Business Systems programme is to help learners appreciate the integration of a company’s business systems and processes. Learners will be exposed to the main business systems that drive the organisation, the interactions between them and the effect of this on decision making in the organisation. It is expected of the learner to identify the linkages between the various business systems and identify the risks involved.

Business Processes
The Business process programme helps the learner to understand high level business processes within an organisation. The learner will participate in business process definition as well as elementary levels of process re-engineering.

ERP Operational utilisation
The programme prepares the end-user for an ERP implementation as well as the operational utilisation of an ERP system. This includes aspects such as principles of ERP transactions as well as trouble-shooting an ERP system.
Project Management
EPI-USE Learning offers a spectrum of Project management courses, to satisfy a variety of needs in the market. All the courses are NQF aligned and depending on the purpose of the course maps to various unit standards for Project Management, mostly at NQF levels 4 and 5. All courses are highly interactive and emphasise learning through experience.
